what we need from you guys is a list of musicals we should watch or that every theatre kid should know so we have sufficient preparation. so, before we go to this camp next year, we want to watch a ton of musicals and listen to the cast albums a lot so that we are prepared and can call ourselves theatre kids. I've also seen The Music Man, half of Rent, and Hairspray, though I don't have the songs memorized from those.
i am a moderate theatre kid, i know all the lyrics to Hamilton and select songs from Newsies, Dear Evan Hansen, In The Heights, Chicago, West Side Story, and The Sound of Music. JP has already been to this camp once before, and was overwhelmed by the amount of musicals that everyone else there had seen and knew all the lyrics to, as she is not so much a theatre kid as a dancer, singer, and musician who is relatively good at acting. Me and my friend (we'll call her JP) want to go to a musical theatre intensive camp together next year.
